Application of GIS and Remote Sensing Techniques for Hydromorphometric Analysis of Wadi Al-Mohammadi Basin, Western Iraq

Hydromorphometric analysis as a method is considered one of the most reliable and used methods in solving hydrological problems. Where it possible to know volume runoff rest elements that enter into water balance. Geographical Information System Remote Sensing technique hydro-morphometric Wadi Al-Mohammadi basin. Al-Mohammadi, located Western Desert, main valleys flow Euphrates River. It an important basin, because its many characteristics, including relatively large area amount drained through, which mainly watering livestock agriculture, addition industrial purposes such production washed sand, gravel scattered on both sides valley. The included several steps, gave results accumulation with highest value lower part represented by form characteristics confirm shape basin far from round shape, reflects basin’s regular surface time low drainages. has reached 5th order two types drainage patterns, dendritic pattern, parallel pattern. categorized extremely density, very frequency, coarse texture, infiltration number, relief slope. Based results, characterized almost flat plateau surface, gradual slope homogeneous good permeable soil conditions, other parts influenced structural phenomena under high permeability sediments over streams pass, higher runoff.
